Vic Sotto, host of the wildly popular and long running noontime show
Eat Bulaga, announced today that his friend and co-host, rapper
Francis Magalona, has passed away. Magalona, or Francis M. as he’s
more famously known, succumbed to his illness this noon.
Francis M.’s battle with leukemia was made public last year, also on
Eat Bulaga. He is credited to be the first Filipino rapper to
successfully crossover to the mainstream and is one of the most
popular and influential singer-songwriters in the country.
He is survived by his wife, Pia and their eight children.
My condelences to the Magalonas. Rest in peace, Francis M.
